Terri Tompkins Honored with Award of Merit

MIRIMAR BEACH, Fla. and MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Alabama State Bar has awarded Terri O. Tompkins the 2022 Award of Merit.

Tompkins was presented with the award at the 145th Annual Meeting of the Alabama State Bar on June 25, 2022, at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Fla. Tompkins was celebrated for the many ways she has impacted her community and profession.

Tompkins is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. She practices with Rosen Harwood, P.A. in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama State Bar President Taze Shepard said, “The Alabama State Bar is proud to award Terri Tompkins with the Award of Merit. She exemplifies a dedication to service to the legal profession in Alabama.”

Tompkins has served three terms as a bar commissioner for the 6th Circuit. She has also served as the chair of the MCLE Commission, as co-chair of the Governance and Internal Operations Task Force, and as a member of a disciplinary panel.  She is currently serving as co-chair of the bar’s Long-Range Strategic Planning Task Force.  She is the past president of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and is a fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation.

“Terri Tompkins is very deserving of this award,” Alabama State Bar Executive Director, Terri Lovell, said. “We have all benefited from her contributions to the Alabama State Bar.”
