Sara Clark, Oldest Member of Alabama State Bar, Passes Away

Sara Dominick Clark, the oldest member of the Alabama State Bar, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, at age 102. Clark, who was admitted to the Bar in 1941, was a much-loved, retired professor at Cumberland School of Law and the 2010 recipient of the Maud McLure Kelly Award.  We send our condolences to her family and are thankful for her contributions to the practice of law in the state of Alabama. Supreme Court Amends Rules For Paperless Filings in Criminal Appeals Court 

The Alabama Supreme Court amended the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure to reflect the transition by the Court of Criminal Appeal to paperless. The new Rule 57(h)(2) Ala. R. App. P. states that no hard copies of e-documents are required to be filed with the Court of Criminal Appeals. If file under Rule 31(b), those documents filed in person or by mail, and only one copy is required. Read the full order here.
