National Black Students Law Association Anti-Racism Initiative 2021
Starting on February 11, 2021, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. via Zoom, the Mindfulness in Law Society and NBLSA will co-host a series of monthly hour-long conversations where members of the legal community—from the newest law student or paralegal to the most senior practitioner or judge—can come together to break silences and learn from each other. Beginning with the humble act of speaking together, we hope to lift the burdens that our non-white friends and colleagues have been bearing nearly entirely alone.

Volunteer Attorneys Needed
Alabama Free Legal Answers is an online portal that lets lawyers answer civil legal questions submitted by low-income Alabama residents. Alabama Free Legal Answers lets you do pro bono anywhere any time you have a few minutes free. Just login, choose any question you want and respond. It’s that easy! Volunteers are anonymous to the site's users and are covered by malpractice insurance.
Clients who register and qualify based on income can ask questions about topics such as consumer debts, housing, employment, inheritances, family law and other issues. We especially need volunteers who can answer family law questions. Administrators monitor questions to make sure they are all civil questions.
