Reminder: Annual License Renewal Payments Past-Due; Statutory Late Fees Applied After Oct. 31
Paymentsmade after Oct. 31 will be subject to a statutory late fee (for occupational licenses only). All members will notice a one-year fee decrease in fees. Please note, fees will return to the regular rate in 2022. Payment may be made online or you can print a voucher to mail with your check at www.alabar.org.
Leadership Forum Now Recruiting Class 16
The Alabama State Bar is now accepting applications for Leadership Forum Class 16. All applications must be completed and received by the Bar by 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2021. Successful applicants will be notified no later than December 17. Class 16 will consist of no more than 30 participants.
Applicants must be in good standing with the Alabama State Bar and have practiced law for not less than 5 years and for not more than 16 years as of January 1, 2022 (based upon first admission to any state bar).
Notice Of and Opportunity For Comment On Amendments To the Rules of the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit
Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2071(b), notice and opportunity for comment is hereby given of proposed amendments to the Rules of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The public comment period is from Monday December 6, 2021, to Wednesday January 5, 2022.
A copy of the proposed amendments may be obtained on and after Monday December 6, 2021, from the court’s website at http://www.ca11.uscourts.gov/rules/proposed-revisions. A copy may also be obtained without charge from the Office of the Clerk, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, 56 Forsyth St., N.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30303 [phone: 404-335-6100].
Comments on the proposed amendments may be submitted in writing to the Clerk at the above address, or electronically at http://www.ca11.uscourts.gov/rules/proposed-revisions, by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday January 5, 2022.

The American Bar Association, an inaugural Book Club partner, will host (via Zoom) a book discussion with the author, Brittany Barnett, Wednesday, October 27, at 3 p.m.
The Mobile and Baldwin Bar Associations have partnered together to host the Supreme Court of Alabama for Oral Arguments on November 4-5, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama.
The Oral Arguments will be held starting at 9 AM at the Saenger Theatre at 6 South Joachim Street in Mobile. Attendance is open to Alabama practicing attorneys and area school students. Those planning to attend must register; Registration is free.
