Empowering Access to Justice: Alabama State Bar Launches New Website to Assist Alabamians with Legal Challenges
Published on June 24, 2024
Montgomery, Ala. – June 24, 2024 – Access to justice is a fundamental right, yet for many Alabamians facing legal challenges without the means to afford representation, finding help can be an overwhelming and daunting task. In response to this growing need, the Alabama State Bar is proud to announce the launch of a new online platform called Justice4AL.com.
What sets Justice4AL.com apart is its user-friendly interface and intuitive navigation, designed to simplify the process of finding legal aid providers and accessing essential information about the justice system. By answering a few basic questions, users are directed to available services in their geographical area, eliminating the frustration of searching through multiple websites and resources.
With over one million Alabamians living below the poverty line and lacking access to affordable legal representation, Justice4AL.com aims to connect those in need of legal assistance with free, accessible, and comprehensive legal resources. From navigating collection and landlord/tenant disputes to obtaining wills and resolving child support or custody issues, Justice4AL.com is a one-stop destination for individuals seeking guidance and support through the legal system.
“We recognize the significant barriers that many Alabamians face when it comes to finding and accessing legal assistance,” said Alabama State Bar Past President Brannon Buck, who spearheaded the development and launch of Justice4AL.com.
“Our goal is to empower individuals to navigate the legal landscape with confidence and ease, regardless of their financial situation or educational background.”
In addition to connecting users with legal aid providers, Justice4AL.com also provides valuable information about courthouses, court personnel, and relevant legal procedures, further empowering individuals to advocate for their rights and interests.
“By providing free legal resources and information, we hope to promote equity, fairness, and justice for all residents of Alabama,” added Buck.
The Alabama State Bar (ASB) is the official licensing and regulatory organization of lawyers in Alabama. Created in 1879, the Alabama State Bar became an integrated bar in 1923 by an act of the legislature. Since then, ASB programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system. It is dedicated to promoting the professional responsibility and competence of its members, improving the administration of justice and increasing the public understanding of and respect for the law.
