Annual Meeting: Day 1 - A Good Start
Published on July 9, 2008
Things here at the Annual Meeting & Legal Expo in Sandestin got underway at noon today, when registration opened. Attendance is up this year, with a record crowd for the pre-meeting CLE program presented by Paul Mellor.
The real highlights of the day, though, were the social events. The turnout for the Family Poolside Party was great, and the crowd only grew as time for the bonfire approached. The newest member of the Alabama State Bar family in attendance is less than a month old, and we also have lots of members of the “50 year certificate” club present, too. Dr. Breeze provided everyone’s favorite beach tunes, and it didn’t take long for the dancing on the deck to begin.
Once the sun sank into the calm waters of the gulf, everyone proceeded to the beach for the bonfire, s’mores, the limbo contest and the mullet toss.
Tomorrow promises to be even better, with the opening of the Legal Expo and Jan Crawford Greenburg’s keynote at the Bench and Bar Luncheon.
It’s not too late to come on down and join us!
