Clay Martin Honored with Commissioners Award

MIRIMAR BEACH, Fla. and MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Alabama State Bar has awarded Clay Martin the 2022 Commissioners Award.

Martin was presented with the award at the 145th Annual Meeting of the Alabama State Bar on June 25, 2022, at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Fla. Martin was celebrated for the many ways he has impacted his community and profession.

Martin was a 1995 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. He is a co-founder in the law firm of Martin & Helms, P.C., in Huntsville. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, and the Alabama Association for Justice.

Alabama State Bar President Taze Shepard said, “The Alabama State Bar is proud to award Clay Martin with the Commissioners Award. He has been dedicated to the improvement of the administration of justice in Alabama for many years.”

He serves on the Board of Bar Commissioners and the Executive Committee for the Alabama State Bar. He served as president of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association in 2013-2014. He also served as president of the American Inns of Court, Madison County chapter, 2013-2014, and on the Board of Governors and currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Alabama Association of Justice.

“Clay Martin is very deserving of this award,” Alabama State Bar Executive Director Terri Lovell said. “We have all benefited from his contributions to the Alabama State Bar.”
