Montgomery Attorney Leon Hampton Honored with Award of Merit
MIRIMAR BEACH, Fla. and MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Alabama State Bar has awarded Leon Hampton the 2022 Award of Merit.
Hampton was presented with the award at the 145th Annual Meeting of the Alabama State Bar on June 25, 2022, at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Fla. Hampton was celebrated for the many ways he has impacted his community and profession.
Hampton is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law and is a principal attorney at Beasley Allen of Montgomery. He also serves as a bar commissioner representing the 15th Judicial Circuit.
Alabama State Bar President Taze Shepard said, “The Alabama State Bar is proud to award Leon Hampton with the Judicial Award of Merit. He exemplifies a dedication to service to the legal profession in Alabama.”
In addition to his service to the bar, Hampton was the 45th president of the Alabama Lawyers Association. Civically, he is on the board for Legal Services Alabama, the Salvation Army, and the Mercy House. In 2020, Hampton was selected for Alabama State Bar’s Leadership Forum Class 15.
“Leon Hampton is very deserving of this award,” Alabama State Bar Executive Director Terri Lovell said. “We have all benefited from his contributions to the profession and the Alabama State Bar.”
