Heir Property Project Attorney - Mobile

Legal Services Alabama, Inc. (LSA), is one of the largest statewide law firms in Alabama. LSA provides free, client-centered civil legal advocacy to low-income Alabamians and collaborates with others across the state and nation to find solutions to systemic issues caused by poverty and social justice inequities.

The Heir Property Staff Attorney will provide legal representation in civil legal matters with a primary focus on matters connected to heir property. The primary focus of the position will be to educate communities about heir property and the legal problems that can arise surrounding it and also to assist clients in resolving issues related to heir property. The attorney will organize and attend trainings, clinics, and strategy sessions to assist attorneys, litigants, and community partners. While the position is based in Mobile, AL, some travel around the State of Alabama may be required.

Qualifications:

  • This position is an exciting opportunity for attorneys who are admitted to the Alabama Bar and who are passionate about serving low-income populations.
  • Strong legal writing and communication skills are required. Preference is given to attorneys who are bilingual.

Salary: $54,810 plus based upon experience
