Official Court Reporter Vacancy Announcement - Mobile, Alabama

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama is currently welcoming applications for a full-time Official Court Reporter.  This position is based in Mobile, Alabama, a vibrant port city along the Gulf Coast.  The Mobile area is known for its close proximity to breathtaking beaches, as well as its mild winters, laidback culture, revitalized downtown, and affordable cost of living. Mobile is also the birthplace of Mardi Gras. The successful applicant will join a top-notch staff that includes three other highly experienced Official Court Reporters and will also become part of a welcoming and mutually supportive court family.  This position will not be confined to a particular judge or type of matter but will instead be assigned to report a wide variety of civil and criminal proceedings pending before any of our District Judges.  The position is fast-paced and challenging, but also quite rewarding.  To qualify for this position, a candidate must be Realtime proficient and must either have Realtime certification or be able to earn such a certification within 12 months.  Complete details, including salary range, benefits, requirements, and application procedures, may be found on the court’s website (https://www.alsd.uscourts.gov/news/vacancy-official-court-reporter).
