Thomas Goode Jones, Original Oil Portrait

I am selling an original oil portrait of my Great-Grandfather, Thomas Goode Jones. I am of the opinion that this portrait was likely commissioned by his son, Walter Burgwin Jones, in the 1940’s-50’s because to the composition of the canvas, and particularly, Uncle Walter’s obsession in regards to his Father’s historic career.

My father, Joseph Sparks Jones, inherited this piece along with many other items after my Great Aunt, Netta Jones Griffin Passed away in 1975, at the Governor’s mansion in Montgomery. My Father and Mother both passed in 2012. I am their sole heir. The Canvas is 25 1/8″ X 30″ The frame is in less- than pristine condition.
